Ipswich Hackspace

What is a hackspace?

A Hackspace (also known as a hackerspace, hacklab, makerspace or creative space) is a place where people come to collaborate, and collectively share knowledge and tools.

What kinds of tools?

It depends what people want, and what kinds of projects they are working on. Other hackspaces have tools such as laser cutters, 3d printers, lathes, milling machines, electronics, computers etc. Any specialist item can be accomodated, from sewing machines to gene splicing labs.

Is there a hackspace in Ipswich?

No, but there are many people interested in starting one, and a space has become available that we may be able to use. The primary goal at the moment is to get a critical mass of people interested in the project.

How do I get involved?
